Women Run The World Race Day
It was the perfect day to run this year's Shape Magazine sponsored half marathon in Central Park. I exceeded my fundraising goal of $1,500, for the Fostering Change for Children organization that aims to improve the lives of foster children growing up the way I did. I finished the race in a little over 2 and 1/2 hours, exactly what I was expecting given today's hilly course. And the best part: having my girls there and my son cheering me on all the way from Pensacola, Florida. Afterwards, I had a chance to connect with Barry Chaffkin, the president and founder of Fostering Change for Children and his colleague Bryan Hill.
